Wine Making Options

At Grape Beginnings, you will be involved with the entire process of winemaking from crushing and pressing* fresh wine grapes (from select vineyards throughout California, Italy, Chile & Argentina) to watching the racking of barrels and, finally, bottling your wine with your own personalized label.  There are no upgrade charges, or barrel charges, everything is included.

Our staff of award-winning winemakers will guide you through the exciting process over 5 sessions and provide you with everything you need to produce your own private-label wines.

Wine Series

Signature Series 

(Compares to $20-$30 a bottle wines)

The is Grape Beginnings Signature Series wines. Starting at just $11.25 a bottle, these wines will impress.  This is our primary series of wines, and what Grape Beginnings was founded on. Great wine at a reasonable price.  Put your own private label on these bottles, and you will be proud to bring these to your friends house or out to your favorite BYOB restaurant. These wines are made from grapes from areas such as California Suisun Valley (just 2 miles form Napa), and the Sierra Foot Hills. (During Chilean wine making season these wines are made with grapes from the Maipo region of Chile)

Vineyard Series 

(Compares to $30-$40 a bottle wines)

When you want a special wine for Friday night, then step up from the Signature Series, and make our  Vineyard Series wines. These wines start at only $12.50 a bottle and  are made from some of the best AVA (American Viticultural Areas) regions in California. These wines are made from grapes from the California’s Russia River Valley, and Sonoma.  When available we also source grapes from Italy for our Italian style wines.  

Cellar Series 

(Compares to $50-$80+ a bottle wines)  

Do you have a Wine Cellar? Do you enjoy top quality wines, but hate paying the high price? Then our Cellar Series wine is for you.

At $18.75 a bottle, these wines will server up well against just about anything!  Grape Beginnings Cellar Series wines are made with the finest grapes sourced from the very best areas in the world, such as California’s’ Napa Valley, and Chiles Colchagua Valley.   These wines are very special, and will be aged in select premium cooperage Barrels for 14 – 24+ months, producing a “Reserve” wine, that you will be proud to call your own, and server at any special dinner or event.  We recommend cellar aging for 2-3 years.

Varietal Reds

Cabernet Sauvignon

The “King of Red Wine”. Rich in color, intensely flavored, tannic wine with hints of mint, blackberry, and blackcurrant with spicy vanilla aromas.

Merlot

Classic grape of Bordeaux. Has soft tannins, low acid and matures quickly. Drinks well when young.  One of our award winners!

Syrah

Also known as “Shiraz” in Australia, this grape will produce a dark, rich, full-bodies, wine with a chocolate aroma.

Zinfandel

Yields an excellent red wine with dark color, characteristic spicy flavor and strong berry flavors that will stand up to extended oak aging. Pairs just as well with pizza as it does with grilled lamb.

Pinot Noir

Used in the famous Burgundy wines of France. It is considered to be one of the richest and most velvety wines in the world.

Petite Sirah

Produces a dark, dry, full-bodied, and tannic red with intense berry flavor. Currently getting a boost in popularity due to some California winemakers.

Red Blends

Margaux

A Cabernet and Merlot blend reminiscent of the Margaux region of France. Approx. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot

CabFandel

The concentrated, jammy flavors of Zinfandel provide much of the blend’s initial impression, while the structure and fullness of Cabernet Sauvignon give the wine its backbone and framework. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Zinfandel.

CMS

A hint of sweetness, medium plus body with well integrated tannins that linger on the long finish. Syrah / Cabernet / Merlot.

The Prisoner

Lovers of fruit-forward and jammy wines, will love this, however it has enough substance to please those who prefer more structured. It has flavors of ripe raspberry, pomegranate and wild berry fruit, soft, integrated tannins and a pleasant finish. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache

Velvet Red

Aromas of Cherry, Spice and Oak. Flavors of Plum, Berries and Cassis with a hint of Pepper. This finish leaves a long and lasting memory. Our 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is like Velvet on the tongue.

Tres Ce’Pages

Our most popular blend! 60% Cabernet, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. A combination of three world famous grapes. Typical Bordeaux Style Wine.

Opus What?

Our take on one of California’s greatest wines. There are aromas of fresh blackberry, and chocolate, this age-worthy wine offers flavors of dark fruit highlighted by well integrated acidity.

A must see wine enthusiast movie, and the basis of this St. Emillion style wine. Our version of Miles’ prized possession of the 1961 Chevel Blanc from the movie Sideways. Cabernet Franc/Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon.

Family Recipe

Frank’s Barbera Blend. This is what you drink at Sunday dinners! A combination of 70-80% Barbera and 20-30% Petite Syrah.

School House Red

Old Vine Zinfandel, Petite Syrah & Merlot. A full bodied wine, with DEEP color, and great tannins. Award winning wine.

Caba Barbara

Layers of dark plums, grilled herbs and tobacco, all supported by fine, silky tannins. A blend of 60% Cabernet, 40% Barbera.

Super Rhone

Blending Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, results in a wonderful wine with dark ruby-violet color, and juicy, jammy blue/black fruits and raspberry on the nose. Smooth and ripe in the mouth a wine that can be enjoyed young, but will mature.

Italian Style Wines

Chianti

The main component of Chianti is the Sangiovese grape which originated in Italy. It is a dry dinner wine that goes with well-seasoned foods. It goes well with pasta, pizza, chicken, red meat and cheese.

Montepulciano

It is typically a fruity, dry wine with soft tannins, and as such is often consumed young. It makes a beautifully deep ruby red wine that is clear and brilliant with purplish shades. Over time the wine turns to garnet red during its maturation.

Barolo

The “big” black-red wine of Italy’s Piedmont Region. 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Barbera. The blending of these grapes (which have opposite characteristics) produces a wine, which has fine taste balance but is still bold and powerful.

Super Tuscan

40% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet, 20% Merlot. This wine seems to be “built for food”. This wine possess a good bit of acidity, the kind of acidity that clears the palate and makes you want to take another bite!

Sangiovese

Sangiovese originated in the Tuscany region of Italy where is was known as far back as the 16th century. When young Sangiovese can have fresh fruity flavors and when aged in barrels can take on tarry, oaky flavors. se and the dessert wine called “Dolce Nero”.

Brunello

Is a clone of Sangiovese and is one of the best known wines of Italy. It is often compared with Pinot Noir and has smooth tannins and ripe fruit driven character. It’s high tannin content and high acidity allows it to pair well with grilled meat and game.

Amarone

This wine comes from the Italian word amaro (“bitter”), and may have a tartness as well as a sweet edge to the wine that can be explained in the concentrated sugars the grapes pick up during the drying process.

Nuova Casa Del Papa

40% Barbara, 20% Alicante, 20% Nebbiolo, and 20% Sangiovese. Italian Red blend.

Vino da Travola

(Italian Table Wine) Frank’s grandfathers secret recipe 25% Grenache, 25% Carignane, 25% Alicante, 25% Zinfandel.

White Wines

Chardonnay

One of the world’s great wine grapes. It is responsible for the white burgundies of France. Produces wines that are buttery, creamy, nutty & smoky.

Sauvignon Blanc

Extremely versatile grape, which can be vinified in a number of styles. Produces a wine with a citrus, gooseberry flavor and a herbaceous aroma. Award winning wine.

Pino Grigio

Italian style white wine. Produces a crisp, light, dry wine. Pairs well with a variety of foods.

Riesling

A slightly less sweet Riesling then you normally find. “The Great White” grape originated in the Rhine region of Germany and is an aromatic displaying flowery, almost perfumed, aromas as well as high acidity.

Fume Blanc

Barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc; Robert Mondavi originated this style. AWARD WINNING!

Bordeaux Blanc

85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon. A charming easy drinking white Bordeaux revealing a wonderful selection of peach and citrus fruits.

Viognier

Known for its’ floral aromas, which are similar to Muscat and Riesling.

Luna
